Beautifully Redeemed

{I made a live video of this song for Easter 2021, you can find the YouTube link on the Home page. It has yet to be produced, but here are the lyrics...}

There’s a place where wretchedness

is brought face to face

With the slain and risen Lamb

in all His gory grace

So scarred and marred, yet glory blazes

Out of all His broken places

I can’t avert my eyes from His gaze

And I am mended by His brokenness

He repairs my heart, makes me whole

I’m upended by His tenderness

As He seals my scars with His gold

And I am beautiful where I’m weak

cause I’ve been beautifully…  redeemed

The Maker joins each shard of me

with careful, wounded hands

He paints His blood over each seam

with full forgiveness

From every crack His glory blazes

Out of all my broken places

I can’t avert my eyes from His gaze

And here I stand, once-ruined

Grace glinting from every vein

Each weakness now a benediction,

A place for Christ to brightly flame

It’s through my flaws, my imperfections,

That He glorifies His name…

Cause I’ve been mended by His brokenness

He’s repaired my heart, made me whole…

I’ve been upended by His tenderness

As He sealed my scars with His gold

So I am beautiful where I’m weak

cause I’ve been beautifully…

redeemed
